“A Future-Proof Gift” is a feature-length documentary about the Circular Economy – a subject as new as it is unknown to the general public, and which is presented as strategic for the world economy in the coming decades. The current economic model, known as linear, is based on the extraction, production, consumption and disposal of raw materials and products. At EC, the idea is that this cycle can be closed, transforming waste into new raw materials, for the same or other production chains. It seems simple, but for that, it is necessary to rethink the design of the products and the entire logic of their consumption and disposal. In addition, EC is also represented in the new ideas that arise around the world, pointing to a more collaborative and shared economy, with many startups presenting new business models. The film analyzes with lightness and depth this new world trend, showing the reality of Holland – the most advanced country in Circular Economy -, and the difficulties and victories already conquered here in Brazil.
